Two female ‘militants’ held in city

Two suspected female members of the banned militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) were detained from the city’s Arambagh area on Wednesday night.
The detained persons have been identified as Rubaia Binte Nur Uddin Labiba, 20, and Naim Akhter, 25, RAB official said.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-11 conducted a drive at Arambag area and detained Labiba and Naim from there around 10:00pm, said Mufti Mahmud Khan, Director of Legal and Media Wing of the elite force.  
A number of books and leaflets on Jihad were recovered from their possession, the RAB official said.
The detained women were being interrogated to determine if they are in connection with JMB, he informed.
A case was filed with the police station regarding the incident, he added.
