Two people died in electrocution in Goinghat upazila of the district on Friday.
The deceased were identified as Mizanur Rahman, 14, and his grandfather Fakruddin, 70. Both were the residents of Turukbhagh village under the upazila.
Officer-in-Charge of Goinghat police station Delowar Hossain said the fatal incident took place this morning when Mizanur Rahman was catching fish in a water body of Turukbagh village.
During the fishing, he came to contact with a live electric wire and got electrocuted.
Fakruddin was also electrocuted as he went to save Mizanur. They died on the spot.
