Two bodies recovered after missing in flood water in Sherpur

The bodies of a farmer and a mason were recovered after 15 hours as they went missing in flood water in Jhenaigati upazila of Sherpur district. The bodies of the two were recovered from separate places on Saturday morning.
The deceased were identified as Abul Kalam (33), son of Sheikh Quader Ali at Bagervita in Dhanshail Union of Jhenaigati upazila and Ashraf Ali (60) son of late Nafaz Uddin at Bairagipara in Jhenaigati upazila of Sherpur district .
Sources said Ashraf Ali, a farmer from Bairagipara, fell into the flood water at 5 pm on Friday. Later at about 6 am on Saturday, the local people saw the dead body of Ashraf Ali floating on water.
Chairman of Dhanshail Union Parishad Shafiqul Islam said Abul Kalam went missing in the flood water at about 5.30 pm while he was trying to catch a duck in flood water. Later on Saturday at about 6 am, relatives saw the dead body of Abul Kalam floating on the water and rescued him.
Earlier on Friday, Fire service personnels, locals and family members launched an operation to rescue the missing persons but the operation was suspended as the missing persons were not found till 8 pm. Officer in charge of Jhenaigati thana Monirul Alam Bhuiyan confirmed about the recovery of the dead bodies.
