Police recovered scattered parts of an unidentified man at Nishchintapur in Ashulia of Savar, on the outskirts of the capital on Monday morning.
Quoting locals, police said that local people found the body parts in a polythene bag near Amena Mosque around 9:00am. They were on way to the mosque for Fajr prayer and informed police.
Being informed, police went to the scene and recovered the seven parts of an unidentified man. Ashulia Police Station inspector Jabed Masud said, miscreants might have killed the man few days ago and, later, left the body anytime at night.
The body parts have been sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College morgue in Dhaka for autopsy, he said adding that they suspect that the man was killed three to four days ago somewhere else and dumped there on Sunday night. Meanwhile, two bodies were recovered from two separate areas of Ashulia in the afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Shyamoli Khatun, 25, wife of Sirajul Islam from Baroipara area, and Fulmati Akter, daughter of Mamunur Rashid from Gomail Banglabazar area of Ashulia, said Jabed Masud.
Quoting locals, Jabed said that Shyamoli, a worker of Nafa Apparels Ltd in Ashulia, was strangulated to death by her husband in their house over family feud around 4:00pm. On the other hand, miscreants killed Fulmati, a third grader of a local school, and hanged her body in their house this afternoon when the girl’s parents were out of home, the inspector added.
However, the bodies were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for autopsy.
