Police on Sunday arrested two youths on charge of beating a female student of a private university.
The arrested persons were identified as Rakib and Imran.
The victim girl was admitted to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), police said.
Demra Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Sirajul Islam said that police conducted separate drives in the area and picked up Rakib and Imran.
A general diary had been filed in this connection, the police official said.
Police are trying to arrest the miscreants in this con
nection. Earlier, the victim’s brother said, “His sister left home on Saturday afternoon to teach a student. Several youths attacked and beat her near our home. They fled when locals rushed to rescue her.”
Her brother claimed that a youth named ‘Max Babu’ attacked his sister because she refused to have a relationship with him.
