 Ambassador of Republic of Turkey to Bangladesh Mustafa Osman Turan on Sunday night said that Turkey will always remain in solidarity with Bangladesh. “Turkey is a country where modernity and tradition lives side by side with harmony. And I see the same in Bangladesh,” he said.
The ambassador made the remarks while addressing a conference on sufi music as chief guest at a convention hall at Chattogram’s Khushi area on Sunday evening last. .
The Turkey embassy, honorary consul general to Turkey in Chattogram and Syed Ziaul Hoque Maizbhandari Trust jointly organised the conference on the occasion of the birth centenary of the country’s founding president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The ambassador Mustafa Osmam Turan said that “there are many cultural and religious elements in the history of Turkey and Bangladesh that overlapped sufism.” “Our country is enjoying strong bond of friendship and solidarity with Bangladesh. We always remain in solidarity with Bangladesh. Time and again, whether its cyclone, whether its political crisis, rohingya crisis or any crisis that we face in Bangladesh and Turkey we always in shoulder to shoulder. No one is able to break the solitary,” the ambassador said.
Besides, SZHM Trust’s managing trustee Syed Mohammad Hasan Maizbhandari presided over the conference while honorary consul general Salahuddin Kashem Khan, PHP family chairman Sufi Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Chittagong University’s former vice-chancellor Professor Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury, Daily Purbokone chairman Jashim Uddin Chowdhury, among others, addressed the conference. Later, artists from Turkey and Bangladesh presented dance and maizbhandari songs.
