Tulip reappointed UK Shadow Minister for Children & Early Years

Tulip Rizwana Siddiq, a British Parliament Member and granddaughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, has been reappointed as the Shadow Minister for Children & Early Years as part of a reshuffle following the election of new Labour leader Kier Starmer.
“I’m pleased @Keir_Starmer has asked me to stay on as Shadow Minister for Children & Early Years. I wish my friend @AngelaRayner luck and look forward to working with @RLong_Bailey to help children, parents and childcare providers through this crisis and beyond #StrongLabourWomen,” she tweeted. Tulip, daughter of Sheikh Rehana and niece of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, previously served in the position following Tracy Brabin’s promotion to shadow culture secretary. She also served in the same role between 2016 and 2017.
Tulip has been reelected Member of Parliament (MP) in the UK general election held on December 12, 2019 as a candidate of Labour Party. She was reelected from Hampstead and Kilburn parliamentary constituency for the third term.
She bagged 28080 votes while Jony Luck from Conservative Party got 13,892 votes in the election.
In the June, 2017 UK general election, Tulip retained her Hampstead and Kilburn seat with a margin of 15,560 votes.
