Trump has infuriated world and American leaders

BY withdrawing from the Paris Accord on climate change, the US President Mr. Trump has once more infuriated the world leaders to fulfil his campaign promise, on his own term. Not only he is ignorant about facts on global warming, but a series of brainless remarks which he made for justifying the withdrawal is apparently illogical and confusing. He further stated that, the Paris Accord in no way serves “America’s purpose”, as an eventual outcome of the agreement millions of Americans would lose their jobs and other nations would benefit from the money paid by American tax-payers. Whatever, the true intention may be, America’s exit would clearly affect the accord; which binds some 195 countries to cut down Carbon emission rates. Moreover, besides being one of the largest carbon emitters – China and India, America’s shocking way out would also evidently create a leadership crisis in terms of spearheading the Paris agreement goals.
The Accord, which was negotiated in 2015 and took effect in November 2016, was spurred by the overwhelming global scientific consensus that – rising global temperatures over the last several decades were making the planet warmer and inhabitable. The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which pools scientific research from around the world, concluded that greenhouse gas emissions had all potentials to have been the dominant cause of the warming since the mid-20th century.
However, the agreement, which is not a binding treaty, calls on countries to make voluntary national pledges to reduce emissions and provide periodic updates on their progress. That said – with America quitting the Paris Accord, it has now become an open question – whether the United States will hit its Paris emissions target with or without the agreement. Additionally, the million dollar question now – how other countries will respond to Mr. Trump’s withdrawal? Would they keep pressing ahead with their respective climate actions, or does the accord start to unravel without the United States? Leaders in Europe, China and India have insisted that they will carry on tackling global warming without the United States.
It’s up to the major European and Asian powerhouses to prove, that they are prepared to lead the rest of the world for making it much greener and safer for our future generations. It is a hopeful sign that the American people are not with President Trump. They see it as a terrible mistake for the USA and the whole world. That is strong enough a signal for President Trump. Americans are not going to tolerate him long. He is not good for America and the greatness of the American people.
