Two people were killed and another was injured as a stone-laden truck collided with a roadside tree and overturned on the road at Muksudpur Upazila in Gopalganj.
The accident took place near Charprasannadi Bridge No. 1 of the Upazila on the Dhaka-Barisal highway on Thursday morning.
The deceased were identified as Sajib Mridha, son of Musa Mridha of Fuksa area of ??Kushtia and worker Shahin, son of Omar Farooq of Chaprain area of ??Madhupur Upazila of Jhenaidah.
Bghanga highway police ASI Md Abdul Jabbar Mollah said the stone-laden truck collided with tree and overturned after its driver lost control over the steering near Charprasannadi Bridge No. 1 at Muksudpur on the Dhaka-Barisal highway in the morning.
Following the accident, hundreds of vehicles were stranded on both sides of the highway.
