Four people were killed and three others injured in a collision between a truck and a jeep in Madhabpur upazila of Habiganj district on Monday afternoon.
Three of the dead were identified as Nazmul Islam Kazal, chairman of Jashore’s Bagharpara upazila, Ariful Islam of Bagharpara’s Karimpur village, and Ankhi,20, daughter of Sumon Mia of Taltala in Dhaka.
Madhabpur Police Station OC M Iqbal Hossain said a Sylhet-bound Pajero jeep from Dhaka collided head-on with a truck coming from opposite direction in Noapara area around 3pm, leaving two jeep passengers dead and five others injured.
The injured were taken to the upazila health complex where two others declared dead. Bagharpara UNO Tania Afroz also confirmed the matter.
