A truck driver was killed when the truck overturned at Gafargaon in Mymensingh. The accident took place in Maizbari area of Langair union of the upazila around 11am on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Naeem Hossain, 20, son of Shamsul Haque of Syed Para village. According to local sources, driver Naeem Hossain tried to lift the tree from below at around 11am in Maizbari area of the upazila. But as the place was muddy, part of the engine overturned in front of the truck. The driver Naeem Hossain was hit in the head. When the locals rescued him unconscious and took him to the Upazila Health Complex, the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Local UP chairman Abdullah Al Amin admitted the accident.
