Tributes paid to Bangabandhu on Valentine’s Day

Students, youths and elderly people of Chittagong today paid tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by offering flowers at his portrait.
Jagroto Chhatra Jubo Jonota (JCJJ) organised the extraordinary program titled “Our Love, Our Father of the Nation” by placing flowers on the huge portrait erected near Chittagong Press Club (CPC).
A makeshift stage was also erected near CPC by installing a eight-feet long portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman lanced by eminent photo-journalist Pavel Rahman.
Vice-president of Chittagong city Awami League (AL) Khorshed Alam Sujon in his introductory speech said the true followers of Bangabandhu’s ideals and spirits converged there to pay homage to the architect of independent Bangladesh as a mark of countless love on the occasion of Valentine’s Day.
Soon after Sujon’s speech, Vice-chancellor of Premier University and a member of AL Advisory Council Prof Dr. Anupom Sen offered flowers on the portrait of Bangabandhu.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Sen said none but Bangabandhu deserves the love of the people as he suffered an era of imprisonment and subsequently he along with his family members was assassinated on August 15, 1975 for his immense love for the country’s people.
JCJJ Convener ASM Jahid Hossain presided over the function while convener of Nagarik Moncho AKM Belayet Hossain, Guerrilla Freedom Fighter Balagat Ullah, Advocate Shankar Prasad Dey, General Secretary of Chittagong city Shramik League Mahbubul Hoque Etli and city Chhatra League president Imran Ahmed Imu, among others, offered flowers on the portrait amidst playing of national anthem.
