BSS, Dhaka :
Mahjabeen Khaled, daughter of slain Major General Khaled Mosharraf demanded trial of the murderers involved in the killings of freedom fighters on November 7, 1975.
“You know who, under whose directives, killed Khaled Mosharraf, Bir Uttam, a valiant war hero of the 1971 Liberation Struggle. He was never connected with any political party. He aimed to punish the murderers of Bangabandhu and bring back the chain of command in the army,” she said this on Thursday at a press conference.
Khaled Mosharraf Trust organised the press conference at Jatiya Press Club in the capital.
Mehjabeen, also Chairman of Khaled Mosharraf Trust, said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is also a victim of not getting justice, awaited 21 years to start the trial of the Bangabandhu murder case and 34 years to implement the verdict.
“After overcoming a lot of tumultuous acrimonies and thwarting both national and international intrigues, she (Sheikh Hasina) had brought the killers of Bangabandhu under trial to free the nation from the stigma. She (the prime minister) will definitely bring murderers who killed freedom fighters under trial and give justice to the freedom fighters families,” she added.
Nasima Osman, daughter of Freedom Fighter Abu Osman Chowdhury, and Barrister Tureen Afroz also spoke at the press conference.
Mehjabeen said the killings on November 7, 1975 could not be tantamount to any revolution at all but it was merely a suicidal coup of army.
