Tree plantion program has been inaugurated in Manikganj on the occasion of World Environment Day. This time the theme of World Environment Day is ‘My Nature, My Country, Green Bangladesh’.
Manikganj Deputy Commissioner SM Ferdous inaugurated the one lakh tree planting program organized by Green Environment Movement, Manikganj district branch at District MuktijoddhaShishu Park on Tuesday (June 15) at 11 am. The program was inaugurated on the first day of Ashar by planting red Kadam tree. Former district Awami League organizing secretary Ed. Deepak Kumar Ghosh, newly elected president of the district branch of the Green Environment Movement and member of the Central Volunteer League Razzak Hossain Raj and newly elected president of the municipal branch MahmudulHaque. Secretary Mujahid Islam Elma, District Swechchhasebak League leader Anwar Hossain, convener of Navgram Union Juba League Tawfiq and others.
Razzak Hossain Raj, district branch president of the Green Environment Movement, said there was no alternative to planting trees, especially palm trees, to get rid of the hostile environment and lightning. During this disaster of the environment, everyone does something and plants trees.
