Treasury bench members said the proposed budget for fiscal year 2014-15 is business and employment generation friendly and implementation of the budget would help fulfill the dream of turning Bangladesh into a middle income country before the government’s target of 2021 and a developed country by 2041.
Taking part in the general discussion on the budget, they said the country is progressing fast and moving forward fulfilling the expectation of the nation and the proposed budget outlay would expedite the pace of ongoing development under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Treasury bench members Shawkat Ali, Samsul Alam Dudu, Rezaul Karim Tansen, Ushatan Talukder, Fahmi Golandaj Babel, Md Abdullah, Nuruzzaman Ahmed, Nurul Mazid Mahmud Humayun, Sharif Ahmed, Begum Hosneara Lutfa Dalia, Md Shibli Sadique, Begum Akter Jahan, Begum Hosneara, Manjurul Islam Liton and independent MPs Yusuf Abdullah Harun, Md Sirajul Islam Mollah, Abdul Matin took part in the discussion.
They said the proposed budget for the fiscal 2013-14 would boost investment and generate employment as the finance minister has proposed giving incentives to all the key sectors, including education, agriculture, health, transport, shipping, infrastructure and energy.
The lawmakers said the country achieved tremendous successes in different sectors over the last five years and proper implementation of the budget for the fiscal 2013-14 would help maintain overall progress of the country.
