An Engine driven passenger trawler, with more than one hundred passengers on board, capsized on Tuesday in the river of Jamuna in Shibaloy upazila of Manikganj district when a cargo ship rammed the trawler.
Three persons, including two children, were reportedly missing making everyone on two sides of the river bank wail. All others managed to swim shore.
The incident took place around 11am on Tuesday (August 28th) when cargo ship carrying sand was sailing to Kazirhat.
Shibaloy Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mehedi Hasan confirmed the matter to media.
Details couldn’t be known immediately.
