Transfer of sensational Nuru murder case to CID urged

Chittagong district police requested the office of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to give the charge of investigation of the murder case of Joint Secretary of JCD Mohammad Nurul Alam Nuru to Criminal Investigation Department (CID) or Police Investigation Bureau (PIB).
The SP of Chittagong Nur -e- Alam Mina sent a letter to the IGP office to give the charge of investigation of the murder case of Nuru to CID or PIB as the police is the complaint of the case. SP of Chittagong Nur-e-Alam Mina said, there is an allegation against police that the policemen took Nuru and killed him later.
Moreover, the family members of Nuru did not file any case in this connection. As a result, police filed a case in this connection with Raozan thana.
“So, where a policeman is complainant, we can not investigate the case for the sake of accountability.”
He also said, the family members can go to court and file case. If they file case before the court, the court can give directives in this regard.
 Sources said, on April 1, police filed a murder case in connection with the killing of Mohammad Nurul Alam Nuru (45) with Raozan thana .
Officer in-charge of Raozan thana Mohammad Refayet Ullah said police filed a case in connection with the murder of Nurul Alam Nuru.
“We have contacted with the family members in this connection. But, they did not file any case. So, police filed the case in connection with the murder under section 302,201 and 34 of criminal act.”
Sources said, the Raozan thana police recovered the body of Nurul Alam Nuru from the bank of river Karnaphuli at Koepara village area at Bagoan union under Raozan upazila Thursday afternoon.
Police said, the body of JCD cadre Nurul Alam Nuru was recovered from the bank of river Karnaphuli at Koepara village area at Bagoan union under Raozan upazila at around 2.30 pm on Thursday afternoon.
He was the accused of two murder cases and two other criminal cases with Raojan thana.
On the other hand, the JCD and BNP leaders alleged that police took Mohammad Nurul Alam Nuru from his city’s residence at Katalgonj in the port city on March 29.
Later, after one day of his abduction, Raojan thana police recovered his body from the bank of river Karnaphuli at Koepara village area at Bagoan union under Raojan upazila.
Woman’s body found on Ctg road: Police recovered the boy of an unidentified woman, aged around 45, from Akber Shah Police Station area of Chittagong city on Sunday.
Locals spotted the body on a road in the morning and informed police. The woman might have been run over by any vehicle in the morning, said Sub-Inspector of Akber Shah Police Station Kamruzzaman.
She used to do begging, said the SI, adding, the body was sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
