A day-long training on “Role and responsibility, and the ethical principles of university teachers”, organized by Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Uttara University was held on Saturday at the IQAC Seminar Hall of the University.
Internationally reputed HR professional and veteran academician, Md. Musharrof Hossain was present as resource person in the training.
Hossain is an Adjunct Professor, Uttara University; President, BSHRM and APFHRM; Head, Human Resources Management, ICDDR,B. The training was attended by 38 senior faculty members from 14 departments of the university.
The program started with the welcome address by Fakir Tajul Islam, Additional Director, IQAC. The resource person spoke on roles and responsibilities from different directions in the inaugural session, such as role and responsibility towards oneself, classroom, teaching, university campus, and equity.
In the second session, the participants gained knowledge about the dynamics of academic freedom, professional and academic responsibility and ethics in the end.
The third session started with discussion on the characteristics of effective faculty. In that session, participants trained about what to avoid in the classroom and how to be an ideal teacher.
The program ended with the concluding remarks by Prof Dr Debi Narayan Rudra Paul, Director, Uttara University.
The participants appreciated the lecture and the contents of the presentation after the end of the program.
The added that similar training should be arranged for all faculty members of Uttara University.
