Training of small entrepreneurs, farmers held

‘Small entrepreneur and farmer training’ was conducted to implement the innovative concept of creating small entrepreneurs in vermicompost production. The training was held on Sunday at the Ishwardi Sub-Center of the Bangladesh Atomic Agriculture Research Institute.
Bina’s Director General was the Chief Guest. Mirza Mofazzal Islam. Khan Jahan Ali, Officer-in-Charge of Ishwardi Sub-Center presided over the function. Bina’s Director (training and planning) was the special guest. Jahangir Alam, Director (Research) said. Abdul Malek, Chief Scientific Officer of Soil Science Department Dr. Azizul Haque, Senior Scientific Officer Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Khan. Welcoming remarks were made by Sharmin Ara Jannat, Scientific Officer, Ishwardi Sub-Center. The programme was conducted by Scientific Officer Kamran Nahar.
This vermicompost has been developed by the Department of Soil Science of Bangladesh Atomic Agriculture Research Institute through laboratory and field level experiments. This vermicompost is made by mixing rock phosphate with dung, water hyacinth and rice husk and digesting it with earthworms. Vermicompost will play a major role in maintaining soil health and saving other chemical fertilizers including phosphatic fertilizers and will also contribute to achieving sustainable development goals, the training said.
