Training makes rural women self-reliant

The Secretary of Women and Children Affairs Ministry Kamrun Nahar said that the ‘Income Generating Activities (IGA)’ training will enhance the capability of more than two lakh impoverished women in the upazila-level areas and make them self-reliant. “Bangladesh will celebrate 2020 as the ‘Mujib Year’ along with the Golden Jubilee of gaining Independence in 2021. Accomplishing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) in 2030, developed nation by 2041 and implementing the Delta Plan-2100, women can contribute in the country’s economic progress when they become successful entrepreneurs.”
Kamrun Nahar said this on Wednesday while inaugurating the programme at Jatiya Mahila Sangstha Auditorium in the city as the chief guest with Project Director
Shafiqujjaman in the chair.
Executive Director of Jatiya Mahila Sangstha and Additional Secretary Jahanara Parvin was also present special guest in the programme. Women of 426 Upazilas of 64 districts under eight divisions will be provided the training on Motor Driving, Frontdesk Management, Salesmanship, Vermicompost fertilizer making, Computer Servicing, Mushroom Cultivation, Beautification and Tailoring.
