Relief and Disaster Management Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya (Bir Bikram) said project officers at upazila level would be updated on the consequences of natural calamities through trainings.
“Upazila project officers would be trained at home and abroad to update
them so that they face any disaster successfully,” he said.
He said this on Monday while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of the National Disaster Management Research and Training Institute.
He also inaugurated orientation programme for district relief and
rehabilitation officers and upazila project officers at Mohakhali.
Director General of Disaster Management Department M Riaz Ahmed presided
over the programme.
A total of 25 officers are participating in the two month-long training.
