There will be no sale of train tickets at Kamalapur Railway Station on June 25, as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate a pair of new non-stop train named Sonar Bangla, the Bangladesh Railway sources said.
As per fresh instruction, tickets for July 4 and 5 will be sold on June 26 and 27 respectively, said Director of Railway Department (Operation) Shah Zohurul Islam.
The sale of the tickets started on June 22 and it was suppose to continue till June 26.
There was no long queue to collect the tickets at Kamalapur Railway Station and everyone who went the station got the tickets without any hassle on Thursday.
Rakibul Hasan, a bank employee, told The New Nation that he did not face any problem to collect tickets.
“I would like to thank the Railway authorities for creating such environment in the station. I am used to go home by train and I had to struggle to get tickets every year. But this year is totally different,” Rakibul said.
Tickets for July 1 were sold on June 22, tickets for July 2 were sold on June 23, tickets for July 3 will be sold on June 24, tickets for July 4 and 5 on June 26 and 27. Sale of tickets starts at 8:00 am and will continue till 4 pm every day.
