Our Feni Correspondent: Chittagong’s railway links with the rest of the country has snapped after four carriages of a container train derailed in Feni’s Fazilpur. The Chittagong-bound train was coming from Dhaka. The carriages derailed around 2:30am Thursday near the Fazilpur Railway Station, it’s Station Master Rakhal Chandra told the New Nation. He said a rescue train arrived there from Laksam Railway Junction in the morning and have already started to the salvage the derailed carriages. The official said trains on this route presumably will not resume until noon. Meanwhile, the derailment has left Dhaka-bound Mahanagar Prabhati and Subarna Express, Chittagong-bound Turna Nishitha, Dhaka Mail, Meghna Express and a DEMU train stranded at different stations.
