Two schoolboys died in the river when they tried to save a boy from drowning in the River Feni in Khagrachhari District on Thursday.
They have been identified as Jubair Hossain 14, his sibling Azhar Uddin, 12, and Towhidul Alam 7.
Their bodies were found in the 20 feet deep murky stretch of water after six hours of relentless efforts of the fire service workers, who jumped in the river, fully clothed, and spent six hours in the water to locate them.
Locals said, four boys including two siblings were trying to get cool diving in the river water at Bagan Bazar in Ramgarh upazila under Khagrachhari district on Thursday.
They all started bathing in a small water of the river. But they did not know that the river was 20 feet deep just beside their bathing place. At one stage Azhar Uddin lost his balance and were drowning into the river.

However one of them saved him, went home and informed their relatives about the matter.
Nurul Islam, an UP Member, and also grandfather of the deceased siblings, rushed to the spot and were helpless as the three boys had already drowned in the river water.
Later he informed the Fire Service Department to trace the bodies. The officials of the Fire Service Department finally recovered the bodies after six hours efforts.
Dolar Tripura, Station in-Charge of Ramgarh Fire Service Department, said, the divers of the fire service recovered their bodies from 20 feet deep water of the river.
