MH370
Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 (MH370/MAS370)[a] was a scheduled international passenger flight that disappeared on Saturday, 8 March 2014, while flying from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Malaysia to Beijing Capital International Airport, People’s Republic of China. The aircraft, a Boeing 777-200ER, was carrying 12 Malaysian crew members and 227 passengers from 15 nations.
South Korea ferry
South Korean ferry MV Sewol capsized with 476 people mostly secondary school students from Danwon High School on 16 April 2014. It was travelling from the port of Incheon, in the north-west, to the southern resort island of Jeju.
Turkey
 At least 301 coal miners were killed in a mine disaster in the western Turkish province of Manisa’s Soma district on May 13, 2014.

A launch named Launch MV Miraj-4 carrying over 300 passengers capsized in Meghna River at Munshiganj’s Gazaria on May 15.
MH17
Malaysia Airlines passenger plane carrying 298 people was shot down over eastern Ukraine on 17 July. Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 (MHI7/MAS 17)[a] was a scheduled international passenger flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur that crashed on 17 July 2014, having been shot down, killing all 283 passengers and 15 crew on board.
The Boeing 777-200ER airliner lost contact about 50 km (31 mi) from the Ukraine-Russia border and crashed near Torez in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine, 40 km (25 mi) from the border, over territory controlled by pro-Russian separatists. The crash occurred during the Battle in Shakhtarsk Raion, part of the ongoing war in Donbass, in an area controlled by the Donbass People’s Militia. According to American and German intelligence sources, the plane was shot down by pro-Russian separatists using a Buk surface-to-air missile fired from the territory which they controlled.

Pakistan
Seven members of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) conducted a terrorist attack on the Army Public School in the Pakistani city of Peshawar, killing 145 people, including 132 schoolchildren, ranging between eight and eighteen years of age on December 16.
Migrant boat sink
 About 500 migrants are feared dead after their ship was rammed by another boat near Malta on September 10.
Nepal: On 14 October 2014 a snowstorm and series of avalanches occurred on and around Annapurna and Dhaulagiri in the Manang and Mustang Districts of Nepal within the Himalaya range killed at least 43 people including at least 21 trekkers.
Sundarban
On 9 December 2014 an oil spill occurred at the Sela river of Sundarbans, Bangladesh, a UNESCO World Heritage site when an oil-tanker named Southern Star VII, carrying 350,000 litres of furnace oil was sunk in the river after it had been hit by a cargo vessel.
