Traffic sergeant suspended for assaulting driver

An intern traffic sergeant of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Mehedi Hasan, who assaulted a private car driver, was suspended temporarily from his job on Sunday night following a wave of uproar in the social media.
The suspension order has already been floated which was signed by Khan Muhammad Rezwan, Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Traffic South Division.
Mehedi Hasan has marred the reputation of police, the police official said.
An Assistant Commissioner (Traffic) has been assigned to investigate the incident, the DC (Traffic) said.
Action will have taken against him after getting report regarding the incident, he said.  
Mehedi Hasan, a traffic sergeant (South Division) of Dhaka, who joined at police in 2015, beat mercilessly driver Yusuf Farazi in front of KFC on Road 7/A, Dhanmondi in the capital around 5:15 pm on Saturday.
The police officer first grabbed the collar of his (driver) shirt and started slapping him in the neck in the open street.
The beating and slapping was recorded for 21 minutes and uploaded to Facebook where it went viral on Saturday night.
