A traditional boat race will be held in the river Chitra in the district Narail on Thursday (September 1) on the occasion of the 92nd birth anniversary of the world famous artist SM Sultan.
Secretary of SM Sultan Foundation Ashikur Rahman Miku said at a press conference held on Tuesday at the conference room of Deputy Commissioner here.
President of the SM Sultan Foundation and Deputy Commissioner of Narail Md Helal Mahmud Sharif, Additional Police Super Jahidul Islam, president of Narail press club Enamul Kabir Tuku, Tonmoy Das and Siful Islam, among others were present at the press conference.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr. Biren Sikder MP will attend the inaugural function as the chief guest while Kabirul Haque Mukti, MP, Sheikh Hafijur Rahman, MP, district administrator advocate Subash Chandra Bose, district AL general secretary Nijamuddin Khan Nilu, city mayor Jahangir Biswas and National Sports Council Secretary Ashok Kumar Biswas will attend as the special guests.
SM Sultan was born in Narail on August 10 in 1923.
