A Dhaka Court jailed a businessman, Syed Ehsan Abdullah, for two years and fined Tk 10 thousand in a fraud case
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Pranab Kumar recently passed this judgement after final hearing.
Advocate Mukhlesur Rahman, a concern lawyer
of the case, said, Syed Ehsan Abdullah, Managing Director of Mitali Fashion Limited, took a loan of Tk 56 lakh from Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, a sports organizer, for three months in 2008. But he did not pay back the money though a long time had passed.
At one stage, both the parties negotiated and the borrower gave a check of Tk 5 lakh to the money lender. But the check was dishonored when it was deposited in the bank. Not only that the money lender faced threat as he asked for money.
At this the creditor served a legal notice on Syed Ehasan Abullah and later he filed a case with the CMM Court. After a long hearing, the court delivered the judgement on August 6.
