Rough weather: Tourists stranded in St. Martin

More than 150 tourists had been stranded in the country’s only coral island Saint Martin for the last two days due to inclement weather in the Bay of Bengal.
Metrological Department on Saturday announced bad weather condition through their regular bulletin.
The cancellation of the scheduled departure due to unfavourable weather caused great trouble for the tourists undertaking visit to the excellent island as well as for local inhabitants, according to sources.
Jasim Uddin from Narsingdi, who is on a pleasure trip to Saint Martin with two days’ leave from office, has been trapped in trouble for not being able to return to his working place timely.
Shah Alam, in-charge of Keari Sindbad ship, said, the vessel failed to return to Teknaf due to bad weather. The carrying of the stranded tourists at Saint Martin depends on the improvement of weather condition, he disclosed.
While talking Abdur Rahman, panel chairman of Saint Martin union parishad (UP), said more than 150 tourists coming for pleasure trip to the island have been stranded.
