Tourist spot soon in Jamalpur: Azam

State Minister for Textile and Jute Mirza Azam on Friday said an attractive tourist spot will be set up to draw attention of tourists in the district.
“We can use a large portion of char areas instead of agricultural land to establish the tourist hub,” he said.
The State Minister said while exchanging views with local public representatives and government officials on building tourism spot at circuit house in the district.
Mirza Azam directed the tourism department officials to find out land to establish tourist spot here.
He also said a project involving Tk six thousand crore would be taken to dredge Brahmaputra river to make it suitable for transportation.
Bangladesh Tourism Corporation Chairman Akhtaruzzaman Kabir Khan, Deputy Commissioner, Jamalpur Ahmed Kabir, Deputy Commissioner, Sherpur, Dr Mollick Anwar Hossain, Jamalpur District Council Chairman Faruk Ahmed Chowdhury, Chief Executive Officer, Jamalpur District Council, Mohammad Anwar Hossain, Jamalpur Municipality Mayor Mirza Sakhawatul Alam Mony,Vice-president of District Awami League Syed Atiqur Rahman Sana and Jamalpur Press Club President Azizur Rahman, among others, spoke in the meeting.
