Chairman of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority Md Mashiur Rahman cautions against the officials of the organisation is anyone found misconducting with the driving license seekers .
He disclosed it while addressing the discussion meeting and training workshop on awareness of alarming road accidents and minimizing the road mishaps in Chittagong at LGED Bhaban in city on Thursday as chief guest. The chief guest in his deliberations said as per directives of the High Court in issuing driving license, we are working for easy processing for issuing the licences to the aspirants.
He said instead of the existing phase of light, medium and heavy license for driver, new device of only light and heavy will be introduced to ease the system. Police commissioner of CMP Md. Iqbal Bahar in his deliberations as special guest said there are about 60 lakh transport drivers across the country but the numbers valid license holder is only 22 lakh and every driver should have valid driving license to ensure safe road journey. Deputy commissioner Md. Zillur Rahman Chowdhury preside the meeting . after end of discussion meeting, about 2 hundred drivers of Chittagong were given training by BRTA officials, sources said.
