A human chain protesting inhuman torture of DBC cameraperson Sumon Hassan by the Detective police of Barisal was held in front of the Press Club with President Mahbub Rokon, in the chair at 3pm yesterday.
Organized by General Secretary M. Salamat Ullah and former organizing secretary M Ramzan Ali, the meeting was addressed among others by , Mahbub Rokon, Salamat Ullah, M Ramjan Ali, Abul Bashar Parvez, Seyad Mostba Ali, Harunar Rashid, Sirajul Haque Siraj, Gazi Abu Taher, Dr. Moulana Ruhul Quader, Maksudur Rahman, Sarwar Kamal, Abdu Rashid, Bashir Ullah, Tarek , Nurul Qader, Zikir Ullah and others.
People from different professional groups were present in the meeting. Speakers condemned the torture in the meeting and demanded punishment.
