Railway workers of East Zone, Chittagong staged demonstration and rally in front of East Zone General Manager office in CRB on Monday morning protesting the physical torture to one official of Rajshahi Rail Station.
Bangladesh Railway Traffic Karmachari Oikya Parishad arranged the protest rally .
The speakers in the rally demanded arrest of Jubo League ( JL) Organizing Secretary Md. Anowar Hossain Raja of Boalia thana unit under Rajshahi district and canceling the enlistment of his contracting license titled Raja Enterprise with Railway.
The rally announced ultimatum for 72 hours to fulfill their demand otherwise tougher movement will be launched later. A memorandum of the Oikya Parishad handed over to Additional General Manager Syed Faruk Ahmed in absence of the GM Mozzamel Hoque.
Oikya Parishad sources said one supporter of JL leader Raja declines to collect train ticket and threatened the officer(ACO) Abdullah al Mamun while checking tickets and said JL activists belong to Raja Bhai never travels in train with tickets and tougher altercations occurred in between them in the bogey on August 25last.. The official Mamun takes rest in the station master’s room after arrival of train in station.
All on a sudden, a group of 10-12 unruly youths entered in the station master’s room with sticks and behaved roughly with ACO Mamun and physically insulted, protesters sources said.
.Meanwhile JL leader Md. Anowar Hossain declines to identify the unruly youths those insulted the ACO Mamun saying he did not know them, Oikya parishad sources added. President of Traffic Karmachari Oikya Parishad Syed Khokan presided the protest rally .
Among others General Secretary Abdus Salam Bhuyia, Mohsin Talukder, Sajjad Hossain, Mohammad Sujan , Ziaur Rahman, Alawal Kaiser, Rezaul Karim spoke on the occasion.
