Ahsan Tarique Topu of 1st batch and Mustafa Monowar Sujon of 5th batch of the Statistics Department of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) were elected President and General Secretary respectively of the SUST Statistics Association, Dhaka.
Other members of the 19-member executive committee are: Vice-Presidents – Prashanto Roy and Shahriar Mohammad Hasan (1st batch), Treasurer – Abdullah Al Masud (6th batch), Joint secretaries – Sultan Mahmud Masum (5th batch) and Amit Kalyan Ganguly (6th batch), Organising Secretary – Abdullah Al Ahsan Pavel (6th batch), Office Secretary HM Ershad (14th batch), Publicity Secretary – Nur-e-Alam Siddique Swapon (15th batch), International Affairs Secretary – Dr Golam Sarwar Sohan (12th batch), Cultural Secretary – Abida Sultana (20th batch) and Social Welfare Secretary – Jakibur Rahamn Sejan (19th batch).
Huamyun Kabir Pintu and Faruk Ahmed (1st batch), Kudrat-e-Khuda Emon (4th batch), Abu Hayat Mohammad Morshed Pulak (5th batch), Md Ashfaqur Rahman Chowdhury (6th batch) and Rezanur Rahman Mithun (12th batch) were elected executive members of the body.
