Tofail for providing assistance to salt farmers

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed Thursday urged the Deputy Commissioner of Cox’s Bazar to take necessary initiatives and measures for providing assistance to the salt farmers to help them produce more salts to meet the consumers’ demand in the country.
“The Government is providing all necessary assistance to the salts farmers to ensure smooth production,” he said while talking to the Deputy Commissioner of Cox’s Bazar through Videoconference after its inauguration at the ministry’s conference room.
Tofail also asked the DC to be more cautious about the supplies and prices of all essential commodities including salts by keeping those within the purchasing power of the common people.
Bangladesh has achieved remarkable progress in various sectors including poverty alleviation, child and infant mortality rate and food sufficiency compared to the neighboring countries like India and Pakistan under the prudent policy and dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he said.
The overall economic scenario of the country is going upward as the government is working relentlessly to bring welfare in the life of the common people, he also said.
