Tk 97,000cr ADP for next fiscal

Staff Reporter :The government on Thursday approved Tk 97,000 crore Annual Development Programme (ADP) for the next fiscal (2015-16).The proposed outlay is 29.33% higher over the revised ADP of Tk 75,000 crore for the current fiscal.The National Economic Council (NEC) approval the ADP at its meeting held at the NEC auditorium in the city.Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Chairperson of NEC presided over the meeting.In addition, the government has allocated Tk 4,000 crore for autonomous bodies and corporations.Briefing reporters after the meeting, Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said that the Planning Commission (PC) proposed Tk 92,500 crore development budget for the upcoming fiscal in the meeting.”But the Prime Minister allocated Tk 4,500 crore extra considering the demands of different ministries taking the total ADP allocation to Tk 97,000 crore.” he added.Of the total ADP allocation, Tk 62,500 crore will be fundel by the government and Tk 34,500 crore by the donors.  The Planning Minister also said that Bangladesh’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 6.51 per cent in the current fiscal, lower than the budgetary target of 7.0 per cent.Per capita income also rose to $1,314 from $1,190 he added.He further said that the ADP implementation rate was 55 per cent during the July-March period of the current fiscal.
