Tk 92,000 snatched in capital, 2 hurt

Some unidentified muggers snatched Tk. 92,000 from two persons by firing guns and stabbing them from city’s Ramna and Adaber areas on Thursday respectively. The victims have been identified as Sheru Mia, 38, a brick trader, andMizanur Rahman Helal, 32, a school teacher, police said. Muggers stabbed brick businessman Sheru and snatched Tk 80,000 from him at Balurmath of Shekhertek around 4:00pm, a police official of Adabar Police Station said.Sheru Mia was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH). In another incident, Quoting the victim’s family, Assistant Commissioner (Ramna Zone) SM Shiblee Noman said that Mizanur Rahman came under attack of four to five muggers in front of Noyatola Bank Colony around 3:00pm. They held him hostage at gun-point and shot at after snatching his bag with Tk 12,000. Mizanur was admitted to the DMCH with three bullet injures in the leg, he added.
