Tk 46.82cr contraband items destroyed in Cox’s Bazar

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Teknaf destroyed contraband items worth about Tk 46.82 crore recently.
BGB Cox’s Bazar Sector Commander Colonel Md Khalequzzaman, PSC, was present at that time. BGB members seized the contraband items after conducting separate drives at different border points from April 15 to December 31 of the last year.
The contraband items included 15,23,862 pieces of yaba tablets, 173 bottles of Indian phensidyl, 37.30 Kg hemp, 19,966 cans of bear, 3,730 bottles of Myanmar wines, 831 litres of Bangla and Cholai wines. The seized items would go up to about Tk 46,81,93,650.
During the demolition drive, Battalion Commander of 42-BGB Lt Colonel Abu Jar Al Jahid, Additional Director Major Najmus Sadat Soumma, Upazila Cooperative Officer Kabir Ahmed, Inspector of the Department of Narcotics Control, Teknaf unit Md Ibrahim Khan, Inspector of Teknaf customs office Sudipta Shekhar Das, and Sub-Inspector (SI) of Teknaf Model police station Jilhaj.
