Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque yesterday said that the government spent Tk 40,000 crore to vaccinate the people of the country to curb the spread of coronavirus.
“Through vaccination campaigns, we have been able to deal with the coronavirus,” he said.
He said this while speaking at a function organized at the National Kidney Institute and Hospital on the occasion of World Kidney Day on Thursday.
“We have already procured adequate vaccines. We also received many vaccines as gifts. Our cost of purchasing, storing and arranging vaccines is Tk 40,000 crore,” the Health Minister said.
He said Bangladesh is standing as a role model in the world to combat Covid. We have worked on the guidelines of the Prime Minister. We are still giving free treatment to people amid the Covid situation.
