City Mayor AJM Nasiruddin said despite realising any tax on education and healthcare from the city dwellers, city corporation is regularly expending more than Tk.40 crores annually as subsidy in this two sectors on Monday.
City Mayor disclosed it while addressing the governing body meeting of 5 educational institutions of the city at CCC auditorium as President of the governing bodies.
These educational institutions are Krishna Kumari Gilrls’ High school, Uttar Kattali Girls’ School & College, Kusum Kumari Girls’ High School, West Madarbari Girls’ High School and East Bakalia High School.
Beside the member secretary, members of the governing committee, Chief executive officer of CCC Kazi Md. Shafiul Alam, Chief Education Officer Nazia shireen, Education officer Md. Saifur Rahman were present on the occasion.
Mayor also informed the meeting that a govt grant from Education Engineering Directorate amounting to Tk.40 crores is expected to receive this fiscal for constructing the school buildings .
He further said CCC is also providing free and half tuition fees facilities to 15% poor and talent students.
He urges the teachers , guardians to ensure the 100 percent success result of the students in coming days. City Mayor also sought cooperation of the guardians and teachers to achieved the desired goal of the city corporation in education sector, a CCC release said.
