Beside the mega project for resolving the much talked water-logging problems of the port city o f Chattogram Development Authority, Bangladesh Water Development Board has undertaken another largest project for Tk 2594 crores for the same purpose o f water-logging.
The WDB project was approved in the pre-ECNEC meeting and after final consent of the ECNEC , the project work will be started by WD B immediately. On the other hand CDA undertaken mega water-logging project for Chattogram at a cost of Tk. 5616 crores.
Executive Engineer of WDB Biddyut Kumar Saha told that this Tk.2594 cr project will be implemented by 2021. He said after completion of of the project, the port city will be freed from water-logging.
On the hand, Chattogram City Corporation also implementing the canal excavation, drain and culverts repairing and lifting of wastes fro m the canals and rains aimed at easy fl w of rain water without any obstructions, sources said.
Tk. 41 cr CVASU budget approved in syndicate meet: Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Science University approved annual budget for Tk.41 crores for the fiscal of 2018-19 . The approval for annual budget was given in the 40th syndicate meeting of the university on Monday. The meeting also approved revised budget of Tk.38.67 crores for 2017-18 .
Vice chancellor of CVASU Prof Dr Goutam Buddha Das presided the syndicate meeting. Among others, member of UGC Prof. Dr. M Shah Nawaz Ali, VC of Premier University Dr. Anupam Sen, VC of Port City International university Dr. Nurul Anowar, Chattogram Zilla Parishad Chairman MA Salam, Dean o f Veterinary Medicine Prof. Md. Halim, Prof. of Pharmacology Dr AKM Saifuddin, Prof Md Masuduzzaman, Prof Vazan Chandra Das, and Registrar and member secretary of Syndicate Md. Abul Kalam were present in the syndicate meeting.
