Tk 2100 crore DSCC budget

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) announced a Taka 2,085.36 crore budget for the ongoing fiscal 2015-16 year without increasing any holding tax.
DSCC Mayor Saeed Khokan yesterday unveiled his first budget at a press conference at Nagar Bhaban here.
The mayor earlier at a meeting with the councilors approved the new and revised budget. The revised budget in fiscal 2014-15 was Taka 642.87 crore while actual budget was Taka 1,565.75 crore.
In his budget speech, Saeed khokan said the DSCC has eyed to collect revenue of Taka 632.09 crore to meet the budget
financing by own. Besides, he said, the government would provide Taka 327 crore as special allocation.
Among the target of revenue collection, Taka 285 crore would come as tax, Taka 130 crore as rent, Taka 60 crore as trade license fee, Taka 6 crore as advertisement tax, Taka 5 crore from truck and bus terminals, Taka 5 crore from animal hat/bazar, Taka 75 crore as property transfer tax, Taka 4 crore from Shishu park and the remaining money from other different sectors.
The DSCC mayor said the main expenditure sectors of the budget, including Taka 180 crore as salary of the officials and employees, are: Taka 181 crore for the maintenance of road and traffic infrastructure, Taka 97 crore for development and maintenance, Taka 64 crore for power, energy and water sectors, Taka 12.50 crore for mosquito control, Taka 25 crore for equipment and others.
DSCC Chief Executive Officer Ansar Ali Khan, Secretary M Rezaul Karim, Chief Revenue Officer Mostafa Kamal, Chief Sewerage Management Officer Captain Rakib Uddin, Chief Health Officer Brig Gen Mahbub and other officials were present at the press conference.
