Tigers-Windies 1st Test begins today

The first Test match between Bangladesh and West Indies begins at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, the port city of the country today. The match starts at 9.30am. Private satellite sports channel T Sports and Nakorik TV will telecast the match live from the arena.
Before today’s Test match, the Tigers faced West Indies in 16 Test matches. Of them, Bangladesh won four Test matches, while West Indies registered 10 victories and two Test match ended in draws.
Bangladesh whitewashed West Indies 3-0 in the three-match ODI series at their home venue recently.
But West Indies Test team are experienced side. They have pacers like Kemar Roach and Shanon Gabriel. The Caribbeans team’s have spinners like Rakheem Cornwall and Jomel Warrican.
Besides, The visitors’ have dependable batsmen like Kraigg Brathwaite and John Campbell.
On the other hand, Bangladesh will get an advantage in their home soil. Bangladesh have batsmen like Mominul Haque, Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim and all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan.
The hosts have world class pacer like left-arm ‘Cutter Boy’ Mustafizur Rahman. Besides, Bangladesh have world class spinners like Taijul Islam, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Shakib Al Hasan.
Captain of Bangladesh team Mominul Haque said, ” The pace attack of West Indies is up to the mark. They have experienced pacers. We have taken prepared to face the pace attack of them. I hope we shall show a good performance against the pace attack of West Indies.”
Mominul said, ” We have chalked out a plan to face the off spin of Cornwall.”
He said, ” We don’t think about the past. We want to concentrate our mind about the upcoming Test match. We shall try to show our best performance.”
Coach of West Indies Cricket team Phil Simmons said, ” Bangladesh Cricket team were out of Test cricket for almost one year. It will be an advantage for our boys. Bangladesh are experienced side as they have players like Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan. Our boys have to execute their plan after taking the opportunities of weakness of the hosts.”
