Sports Reporter :Tigers won the ODI series when they registered a massive six-wicket victory over India in the second ODI at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday.Earlier, Bangladesh composed a resounding 79-run victory over India in the first ODI at the same venue on June 18.Promising pacer Mustafizur Rahman played the key role to earn the much-awaited victory claiming six wickets for 43 runs.Electing to bat first, India scored 200 off 45 overs in a rain halted innings.Then 200 runs were set to target for Bangladesh to win in 47 overs according to Duckworth/ Lewis Method. Bangladesh sailed home in 38 overs making 200 for the loss of four wickets. Shakib Al Hasan remained unbeaten with 51. His 62-ball innings was decorated with five fours. It was Shakib Al Hasan’s 30th ODI half century.Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar made a modest start before Tamim Iqbal (13) was caught at the slip by Shikhar Dhawan off Dhawal Kulkarni when Bangladesh’s total was 34 for the loss of one wicket. Later, Soumya Sarkar and Liton Das repaired the damage contributing together 52 runs for the second wicket partnership before Soumya Sarkar was trapped leg before wicket by Ravichandran Ashwin when Bangladesh’s score was 86 for the loss of two wickets.Liton Das made 36 from 41 balls featuring five fours while Soumya Sarkar hit a fine 34 from 47 balls with two fours and a six.Liton Das was caught behind by wicketkeeper MS Dhoni off Axar Patel when the hosts total was 98 for the loss of three wickets. After dismissal of Liton Das, Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan put on together 54 runs for the fourth wicket stand before Mushifiqur Rahim was run out for 31 when the Tigers score was 152 for the loss of four wickets. Mushfiqur Rahim notched up a worthy 31 from 34 balls hitting three fours and a sixer.Sabbir Rahman remained unbeaten with 22 off 23 balls with three fours.Ravichandran Ashwin, Dhawal Kulkarni and Axar Patel took one wicket each.The 3rd and last ODI between Bangladesh and India will be held at the same venue on June 24.
