Tigers to be accorded reception in Dhaka, Chittagong

Bangladesh National Cricket team will be accorded receptions in the capital Dhaka and in the port city of Chittagong for their excellent performances in the just concluded ICC Cricket World Cup, co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
The BCB will accord a reception to Bangladesh Cricket team at Manik Miah Avenue in Dhaka on Saturday (April 11) while the BCB allowed the Divisional and District Sports Organisers’ Forum to arrange a reception in Chittagong on Friday (Apr 10) in honour of the national heroes.
Bangladesh reached the quarterfinals of the ICC Cricket World Cup for the first time, eliminating England on their way.
The BCB in its 11th meeting on Sunday, congratulated the Bangladesh National Cricket Team for its excellent performance in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 and adopted a resolution felicitating the team members and management for their outstanding show in Australia and New Zealand.
The meeting also decided that Mashrafe Bin Mortaza will continue as captain of the Bangladesh team in the ODI and T20 formats during the upcoming home series against Pakistan.
Shakib Al Hasan will remain vice-captain of the team. But Shakib will lead the side in the first ODI against Pakistan as Mortaza will be serving a one-match suspension.
BCB Director Khaled Mahmud will be the Manager of the Bangladesh Team during the series against Pakistan.
The Board also approved an amount of BDT 5,00,00.00 (Taka five lac) to be handed over to the family of former Bangladesh National Football Team captain Monem Munna for his contribution in the country’s sports.
