Bangladesh batted first in the survival match of the series. Despite being under pressure at the beginning, Bangladesh overcame it and scored 271 runs after losing 6 wickets. The Tigers set a target of 272 runs for Kiwis to win the series.

Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal lost the toss in two consecutive matches at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on Tuesday. New Zealand captain Tom Latham invited Bangladesh to bat after winning the toss in the second ODI.

Captain Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das came down in the opening, however, the start was very bad for Tigers as usual. Liton Kumar went to the dug-out with a duck (0 runs) in the 2nd over of the match.
