BSS, Dhaka :
Bangladesh national cricket team returned home on Friday after a successful tour in Sri Lanka as on-field performance is concerned.
Bangladesh’s result, in the two-match Test series and three-match ODI series that ended 1-1 respectively in both cases, is easily their best achievement in away tour against any big guns.
On the field, Bangladesh also showed a strong manner of comeback from the position of the back against the wall. In the first Test in Galle, they lost by 259 runs. If the loss put any doubt on the mind of the people, they quickly ensured that they are in the right track in longer version format by winning their historic 100th Test match by four wickets.
It was their first Test victory in overseas condition against a top ranked team after Zimbabwe and second string West Indies side.
After that the Tigers started the ODI series with bang as they stunned Sri Lanka by 90 runs in the first ODI. The second match was washed out and thereafter the Islanders won the third match by 70 runs to square the series.
After the ODI series, Sri Lanka started the two-match T20I series with a four-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the first T20 I.
Tigers skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza suddenly announced his retirement during the toss of the first T20. He said that the second and final T20 I against Sri Lanka would be his last T20 International appearance. Mashrafe’s teammates wanted to win the last T20 I match against Sri Lanka for their captain and Bangladesh notched a 45-run victory over Sri Lanka to square the series.
