1st ODI: Tigers face Kiwis today

Bangladesh National Cricket team will take on New Zealand National Cricket team in the first One Day International (ODI) match at Christchurch in New Zealand today. The match begins at 4.00 am (Bangladesh Time).
Before today’s clash, Bangladesh faced New Zealand in 25 ODI matches, winning eight times and losing 17.
According to the International Cricket Council (ICC) ODI ranking, the Kiwis have taken fourth spot, while the Tigers are at the seventh position.
Captain of Bangladesh team Mashrafe Bin Mortaza said, ” the first match of an ODI series is very important, specially, if it is a three-match series. The win in the first match makes the winning side psychologically strong. We shall try to do that. We are all attentive and we have taken preparation to do well.”
Captain of New Zealand team KS Williamson said, ” We are looking forward to play our best according to our plan in our home condition. We want to show attacking performance in this pitch.”
