A farmer was killed and another injured when a thunderbolt hit them at Komorpur village under Mujibnagar upazila of the district on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Billal Hossain, son of Nur Mohammad of the same area.
Police said the lightning followed by a rainstorm hit the duo at about 10:30 am when they were working at a field near their house, leaving them critically injured. They were sent to Meherpur General Hospital where Billal succumbed to his injuries.
