Three killed in Barisal, Rangpur road accidents

Two motorbike riders were killed in a road accident on Rangpur- Dinajpur highway near Hazirhata area, outskirts of the city on Saturday at around 11.00 am. Traffic snapped o the highway for three hours causing severe sufferings to the passengers and commuters.
According to the Rangpur police control room, a Syedpur bound bus ran over a motor cycle coming from opposite direction on the highway near Hazirhat area outskirts of the city that left killed two motor cycle riders on the spot. Locals got agitated and blocked the road for about three hours causing severe sufferings to the passengers and commuters on both sides of the road. Later, police cleared the road around 2.00 pm.
The deceased were identified as- Ansarul Islam, 27 and Bulbul Ahamed, 26 residents of Mirjagonj village under Domar upazilla of Nilphamari district.
The officer in charge of Kotowali police, ABM Abdul Aziz said, police sent the dead bodies to Rangpur Medical College Hospital [RMCH] for post mortem examination.
Barisal Correspondent adds: Tofael Hossain Al Mamun, 35, union assistant land officer of Burirchar under Sadar upazila of Barguna, was killed in an accident on Barisal-Kuakata road on Sunday.
Tofael was son of Mannan Molla from Kobirajpara under Taltali upazila of Barguna.
Md. Munir Hossain, addition district magistrate of Barisal, acknowledging the fact expressed his condolence at the tragic death of this young land official.
Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital and family sources said Tofael driving a motorcycle was coming from Barguna to attend a workshop on land revenue system at the divisional commissioner’s office on Sunday morning.
On the way he fell from his motorcycle facing some technical problem near Burir Mazar under Bakerganj upazila of Barisal and at that time an unidentified car crushed him while crossing the area.
Local people brought him to Barisal SBMCH and Dr. Rifat Hossain, emergency medical officer declared him as dead.
Abul Kalam, ward master of the hospital said dead body sent to morgue for autopsy.
